A handsome George III country oak bureau dating to around 1800, with all the charm of a smaller piece — just 37″ wide at the base, so it fits where a larger desk won’t. The fall opens to a good working surface at 31″ high, with a fitted interior of pigeon holes and ten mahogany-fronted stationery drawers. Beneath are two short and three long drawers of graduated height, the oak fronts cockbeaded and fitted with large brass knobs, above moulded base trim and shaped bracket feet to the front and sides. The honest country construction is part of the appeal: solid oak sides, unusual lime wood drawer linings and an elm board to the base of the interior. Restored, cleaned and waxed in our workshops to excellent colour and condition. Key supplied.

Dimensions: Width: 37″ (94 cm) Height: 43″ (109.2 cm) Depth: 20″ (50.8 cm) Period: Georgian (1714–1837)
