This Neo-Classical Georgian marble fireplace surround is a large and impressive example of Greek Revival design, crafted in a striking combination of fine Carrara statuary marble and rich Sienna marble. Its scale, symmetry, and classical detailing make it an outstanding focal point for refined interiors.

The breakfront shelf projects with moulded edges, resting on scrolling fluted corbel supports that bring strength and rhythm to the design. Beneath, panelled jambs frame the opening with proportion and elegance, while the frieze runs across the centre with a traditional Greek key motif, adding linear precision and balance. At the centre, a carved olive leaf wreath forms the keystone, mounted on a contrasting Sienna marble plaque, introducing colour contrast and symbolic detail that emphasises harmony and victory in the neoclassical tradition.

Surrounding the arched opening, classical egg-and-dart carvings further enrich the composition and connect it to ancient Greek and Roman architecture. Together, these elements illustrate the Georgian passion for classical motifs, interpreted through late 18th and early 19th century craftsmanship.

This Georgian marble fireplace surround has been gently restored in-house and is now ready for installation. Its crisp carving, fine marble surfaces, and architectural scale allow it to integrate seamlessly into period properties while also serving as a bold statement in more modern interiors.
