A beautiful antique Dutch secretary desk in mahogany, made around 1800, with an elegantly curved form. Three spacious drawers fill the lower section, and the fall-front writing flap opens to reveal a finely fitted interior: six small drawers, four of them open, plus several secret compartments. The central door is flanked by small pilasters with brass capitals and bases that pull out as hidden compartments — ideal for letters and the kind of clever detail that makes period secretaries so sought after. With its very pretty mahogany veneer, original brass fittings and a green leather-lined section to the writing surface, it is offered in original condition.
