An original Art Deco dining suite from Paris, circa 1930, in lacquered Macassar ebony and brass — a genuine statement of the period’s elegance. The expandable table is veneered in Macassar ebony, lacquered and polished to a high gloss, and stands on a very beautiful base of four elegantly curved legs; the feet are finished with original brass cylinders at the tips and decorative brass strips along the plinth between them. The underframe and pull-out mechanism are made in solid mahogany, and the table extends to the sides with newly made inset tops in matching Macassar veneer. It comes with ten Art Deco dining chairs in beech, stained and lacquered to tone with the Macassar, upholstered in cream-white original Alcantara leather with keder for very comfortable seating. Six chairs were original to the table; the four others were later reproduced identically.
